In today’s episode, we’re gonna talk about why I think it’s good to stay independent.

Control of your career

– As an independent artist, you have total control over your career

– Be as creative as you want

– Up to you if you want to change direction

– Adopt a new musical style

– If you’re good and you’re consistent, labels will start to seek you out

– Release when and where you want. There’s no time schedule (single, EP, albums)

– Able to express yourself

– Setup Patreon and collect on a monthly basis

You own 100% of the copyright

– This means you earn more

– You’re able to do more collaborations and still earn more

– You determine how much other artists and producers make

– You can spend more on branding and ads

– More chance of going full time

– You have creative control of your merchandise

– You make money when your track is played obscure places (Karaoke, internet radio, podcasts and YT),

Self-satisfaction

– You did this on your own (climbed the mountain, reached the peak)
